We sold our car last week.

Wasn’t half as sad as when we sold our caravan!

Jamie and Emma visit Hastings 3

Posted by Kim Sat, 14 Jul 2007 21:33:00 GMT

Our friends came down south this weekend to escape the terrible floods up north.

We had a lovely time visiting the castle, pedaling around Swan Lake and the obligatory game of Adventure golf.

We also enjoyed fish and chips on the beach, a night at The Crypt as well as fitting in a lovely meal at St Clements restaurant in St Leonards.

Hasting Pier re-opens

Well kind of. The bingo hall has now re-opened along with Bar Luxor. They even have a few outside tables with which to enjoy the summer sun and have a tipple!

Pete and I went along to celebrate the grand re-opening.

Hastings Beer and Music Festival

Posted by Kim Fri, 06 Jul 2007 21:30:00 GMT

The Hastings Beer and Music Festival was on over the weekend at Alexandra Park.

Very small scale compared to what we are used to but a good selection of 40 real ales. Bit lacking on the cider front but the music was great from Kylie Fever, The Ramones and the Rolling Clones.

Check out our glow in the dark drinks glasses! (and the guy who sneaked in behind petes shoulder)

Just a minute

Posted by Kim Tue, 03 Jul 2007 21:27:00 GMT

Pete and I went to the White Rock Theatre in Hastings recently and watched the live recording ot the Radio 4 show ‘Jut a Minute’.

Nicolas Parsons was the hilarious host along with Paul Merton. Jenny Eclair, Gyles Brandreth and the beautiful looking Julian Clary.

It was the funniest show - well worth the £5 ticket.

Sorry though - no pics.

Glastonbury 2007

Posted by Kim Tue, 26 Jun 2007 19:53:00 GMT

Finally it has arrived!

Glastonbury is back after a gap year. Pete and I were joined by the usual crowd or Iain, Belle and Trent who had made it all the way from Australia!

We also had Iains mum, Moya, join us. It was her first Glasto and she loved it!

Weather was a sore point. It rained pretty much the whole time so ponchos and wellies were our best friends!

Mud fest with Iain and Pete

Me at Glastonbury

Watching The Who in the rain

Despite better drainage the mud still remained glue-like causing all sorts of mishaps with ankle strains and wrist injuries.

No real ‘wow’ bands this year, and they had real problems with the sound for a lot of the bands but still Arctics, Killers, Arcade Fire, The Who were excellent to see.

I also experienced more of the circus and cabaret tents which was a new experience and very funny too - especially Pete being dragged onto stage to perform ballet in a tutu! Priceless :)

Muse at Wembley

We saw Muse (again!) at the new Wembley Stadium.

An amazing building - so big it took us about half an hour to actually get in there!

Muse were incredible as always. Just such a shame we were seated and not able to do any moshing at the front.

My very good friend Heather, returned from a week in Poland with a diamond sparkler on her pinkie!

Matt - the little tinker - had only gone and proposed to her!

Aaahhh, how romantic. I have been priviliged enough to have been asked to be Heathers bridesmaid which I accepted straight away.

Congratulations guys!

Isle of Wight Festival 2007

Posted by Kim Sun, 10 Jun 2007 19:40:00 GMT

June is festival time!

We had impulse bought tickets to the IOW festival purely because we found out Muse were headlining on the Saturday night.

It was glorious weather the whole wkd and we had a great time with Iain, Louise, Erin and Moya.

Muse were absolutely amazing. I was also blown away by Paulo Nuttini, Amy Winehouse, Keane (as always) and surprisingly, The Rolling Stones!
